My Timeline Of Change

For my final blog writing assignment of my freshman year, I will be talking about how I have changed in the course of this year. Unfortunately... I don't change much, I haven't had a growth spurt for years, I haven't gained weight, I'm still obsessed with music, and I'm still pretty annoying at times. But because I'm so close with my friends, they have te same annoying trait at times, so I have to say, my whole year has been a daily reminder represented by this photo...

That second photo was for William in particular. Can I just say that it can be hard yet viciously confusing in a school where you are taller than 40% of kids with random giants who tower over the school (half the teachers included) keeping in mind that I'm still below average height (I'm 5'2" for those who don't know my problem)..

My second change that I have gone through this year is keeping up and managing better. I have recently taken on more and more challenges as well as refusing to let myself get behind on homework and studying. It's not that I've stopped procrastinating, which I've also been working on, it's that I have perfected the skill of working a job, finishing homework, organizing various events for youth groups, and learned another instrument. All of this has developed while learning to keep up grades, so I can personally say I have impressed myself this year.

How I feel this blog has helped me can be expressed in a couple different ways. I feel this blog has taught me how to put voice into words, I am used to leaving any and all voice out of my writing (thanks to English essays), but I also think it has showed me exactly how to use voice to express what I want to say. This blog has showed me how to be open and get my thoughts, or in this case, my favorite songs out there to you guys.

Thank you all for reading and commenting on my blog. I hope you enjoyed my little (not really) year long blog assignment and I hope you have enjoyed at least one of my songs this year. I hope you all become successful and good luck with your life.

Song Review: My Sweet Summer - Dirty Heads

For my final review of songs for this blog, I thought "why not review my favorite song with the most ironic background"? So I will be reviewing My Sweet Summer by Dirty Heads.

This song features a story of being teased and then finding out the true story. The story, as it goes, expresses a summer with his "dream girl", until she leaves him in the dust, or, as he puts it, sand.

This song was shown to me by an "x-friend" who know hates me... (because apparently I'm good at pissing people off). Although this song doesn't really tell a story of my life, it does apply to certain events involving my friend, that took place.. in the summer! It was none other than her (quite annoying) boyfriend who showed us the song.

For some unknown reason, I never get tired of this song. When you really listen to it, you can hear every confusing beat and sound. But what amazes me (which is hard to do) is listening to the overall song after thoroughly identifying the sounds and how everything fits together; most songs don't go that into depth on this kind of music.

To go along with this song, there is also a wonderful remix from Borgeous, for that remix click.. right...... HERE! (Thanks guys)

Some of you (hopefully by now) have probably recognized this title. Well I'm here to confirm, that yes, this song was a featured song a while ago. Maybe I just have a bad obsession over this song (big surprise). Anyway, I gotta wrap up this post because I am out of words and I have a karate test for my next black belt tomorrow and I'm only telling you this because I have a certain word requirement on this post to get points. So yeah. Again, I will be posting my last post tomorrow (hopefully this goes as planned) to say goodbye. Until then, see you next time!

Song Review: I Remember - Tristam

For this post I have decided to review a song that has been in my life for god knows how long... But anyway, I find that this song can be very relatable to the end of most dystopian novels or movies.

Although this song doesn't have many diverse lyrics, it is directed to a new "era". Possibly after a war, or some other conflict, hence the line "... that melody that they would play every single day to remind us it was over".

When I was hooked on this song, I would unintentionally play with irony and play this song after school ("it was over"/"every single day") hehehehehehe I'm funny guys...

I Remember features an artist that has been mentioned on this blog, they go by the name Tristam.

Tristam has been featured in countless songs sponsored by Monstercat. I find his remix skill acceptional even though I'm not an excessive listener. He rarely has only his name on a song, usually his name is next to another music producer.

I highly suggest (if you're into trap/chillstep) that you check out Tristam's channel in the link above. For a link on the song click right here

I'm sorry to say that I will be wrapping up my Freshmen Honors English Blog Project. But that post is to come later. That's all for now, thanks for reading!
